Basketball star Scoot Henderson gets LEGO® art portrait.
Brian Hanna’s LEGO® art portrait of Portland Trail Blazer star Sterling "Scoot" Henderson was unveiled September 28th, 2024 at Portland Gear. This rising star of the NBA was excited to see his likeness as it was ceremoniously revealed in front of his friends and family. Set amidst a galaxy of stars and swirling planets, the backdrop was chosen for his love for space and mirrors this 20 year olds meteoric rise.
The youngest of seven kids, Scoot started playing professional basketball with the G League Ignite when he was only 17 and subsequently was the 3rd pick in the 2023 NBA draft. Growing up in Marietta Georgia, where his parents run a gym/community center, Scoot has since settled in Portland to play with the Trail Blazers and chose pop mosaic artist and fellow Portland resident Hanna to create a unique piece of art for his home. Hanna was thrilled to create this special piece for this rising athlete whose motto is O.D.D which stands for Overly Determined to Dominate. Clearly he is well on his way.
The mosaic pop art portrait took about 200 hours and started with a focus on Scoot’s face and then grew outward.
The unveiling was a fun event, Scoot hadn’t seen the portrait until the big reveal!
Scoot, with the help of friends, loaded the 45” x 45” portrait into his waiting Cybertruck.
